One of the most tedious parts of moving is packing and organizing your closet! So many clothes to fold, so little time/boxes/energy. One of my favorite tricks is to use black trash bags for items already hanging in closets that you plan on hanging back up anyway.

It’s very difficult transporting items on hangers – the clothes fall off, the hangers get misaligned. I like to use black trash bags to group hangers together. Simply pull a black trash bag up from the bottom of a group of clothes, and tie the strings around the bottom portion of the hanger. It keeps the clothes from falling out and keeps the hangers in a row. You can easily place them in the backseat of your car and then put them right back up in your new closet!

EXTRA TIP:Β If you’re like me and your closet is color coordinated, this is a great way to keep items in the same order. You can do so by stapling a post it note to each bag with a number or word that reminds you of the order of the bags. Whatever works for you!
