The Organization Organization Blog

While recently organizing my own home, I came across these binder rings I used when I was in school to organize my index cards when I would study for an exam. I recently purchased these new, cute Chevron printed curtains. Unfortunately, they didn’t come with any sort of tie. I was going to go to Hobby Lobby to buy some ribbon, but I decided to repurpose the binder rings instead! Saved myself money and they work well!

Organizing isn’t just about throwing things out. It’s also about repurposing things you already have if they can serve a better purpose. At the same time, you don’t want to get caught in the trap of saving things because you think you will use them at some point. “At Some point” sometimes turns into a few years and before you know it, things have piled up. If you don’t find an immediate need for something while you are organizing, I would suggest you to let it go. Letting go isn’t easy for everyone, and a professional organizer can help you during this process!

I don’t review index cards anymore, but I can use these binder rings for my curtains or to hang purses or scarves in my closet. Actually, I think I’ll go do that now!
