The Organization Organization Blog

I can barely contain my excitement for 2 organizers I found at Target this past weekend. I couldn’t wait to share them with you! People sometimes ask me why I write a blog or posts like these. It’s because I love sharing what I found, in hopes that you might find it useful too. These 2 organizers changed my life and brought so much joy to me and my home.  I hope to help you feel the same way!

Please note that I purchased these with my own money at my discretion. These honest opinions are my truth!

What I found at Target are the types of things I have been on the hunt for for a while, (im)patiently waiting until I found the perfect piece for the intended space and function. I nearly yelled when I saw these two! I’d seen items that had the functionality I wanted, but not the look.

Near the entry of my apartment is a small table where we put our keys, sunglasses, and mail. I have been on the hunt for something to organize the top of it for MONTHS because it bothers me like crazy. Here is the table top before:

I’d found several organizers that had the compartments I wanted, but they were often made of wicker which is not my style. AND THEN.. this beauty, alone in the Target office section, appeared!

I mean, come on now, isn’t it just BEAUTIFUL! I love the clean white lines and gold accent. I like that it has the one section that isn’t perfectly rectangular – it adds a little bit of spunk to the piece. To me, this piece looks like it’s worth about $40-$45. To my surprise, it was only $19.99!! It is from the Nate Berkus for Target collection. I go to this Target regularly and had never seen this piece there before. Maybe someone returned it (thank you, whoever you are!) This was the only one in the store, but you can make your life better by buying it online here!

Voilà! Now our sunglasses are separated, our spare key is in it’s own small compartment and is separated from our every day keys, and the outgoing mail has a very specific slot so we know when something is there that means it needs to go out! The tissue box was too big, so I moved it to the coffee table.

Now these next items almost made me jump up and down for joy in public. I’ve had your typical inside the cabinet organizers for some time, and they certainly are useful for big items like a blow dryer and curling iron. You know what I’m talking about. The ones that look like this.. (p.s. do NOT buy this from Target. You can find these at Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls for half the price!)

But if you have smaller items, this is really inconvenient. There’s so much extra space you could be using above the basket itself and small items get lost. Or, you may have items of different shapes that don’t work well together in the same compartment. Well, thank you madesmart for developing this “hang-it organizer”!

You can move the baskets around to fit the space, items, and functionality you want! I used it in my bathroom and kitchen. All of the items in the bathroom were up on the sink counter, which already had limited space. Now they’re hidden, organized, and the counter looks less cluttered! I didn’t need all 3 containers that came with the organizer, but I kept it in case I want to change the set up later.

In the kitchen, the ugly sponges and gloves are out of sight and can finally completely dry (a note learned from the popular Mari Kondo: The Magic of Tidying Up book). The quality of the plastic seems sturdy – time will tell. It says it can hold up to 10lbs, but I don’t anticipate loading it up with that much stuff. I was a bit concerned about the hook being able to fit my cabinets, but there was no problem. The kitchen cabinet depth is a little bigger than the bathroom, but it still fit and actually sounded like it clicked into place.

Unfortunately, I can’t find the madesmart Hang-it Organizer anywhere online 🙁 It’s not on the Target website or anywhere else virtually. Here is a list of stores that sell madesmart items. Check out your local stores to see if you can find it!

These two items were truly the best random finds I’ve ever discovered at Target. They fulfilled a specific need for me. I HIGHLY recommend you purchase them (especially the madesmart) ONLY if you have a specific need and place for them in your home.

If you find these products and use them in your home, tag me in a before and after. I’d love to see! If you’ve found something recently that just brought you so much happiness and joy for its practicality and prettiness.. I want to see those too!  Tag me on instagram, upload it to my facebook, tweet me, and make sure to use #BestTargetFindsEver
